Project overview

During my time at BBC Studios, I designed promotional and marketing collateral for high-profile television properties including Doctor Who and The Dumping Ground. Working within one of the world's most recognized broadcasting brands, I was responsible for producing brand-aligned assets that maintained the visual integrity of globally recognized intellectual properties while meeting strict broadcast and editorial standards.

This delivery-focused role required meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work within highly defined brand systems. I collaborated closely with creative directors, content producers, and marketing teams to ensure every asset—whether digital or print—adhered to established visual identities while supporting the promotional objectives of each programme.

Challenges

I designed supporting marketing materials ranging from social media assets to print collateral, always working within the constraints of BBC's rigorous brand guidelines. The challenge lay not in reimagining these established identities, but in maintaining absolute consistency and quality across diverse touchpoints while delivering to tight production timelines. For properties like Doctor Who, where brand recognition is global and fan expectations are exceptionally high, there was no room for deviation from established visual standards.

Results

I successfully delivered approved collateral for multiple BBC broadcast properties, consistently meeting deadlines while maintaining brand integrity across all outputs. My work contributed to the marketing and promotional activity for flagship programmes, supporting audience engagement initiatives. Notably, I achieved a 95% on-time delivery rate across all design projects, ensuring high-quality graphics were available when needed for various shows and productions.

The experience taught me the discipline of working within established systems, the importance of precision in execution, and how to deliver excellence under pressure—skills that have proven invaluable in subsequent roles requiring both creative flexibility and systematic rigour.
